• avid-shrug: Medical experimentation on the disabled is honestly the natural conclusion of the anti-vax movement.

• Cop10-8: I live in Western Colorado. I often visit the Storm King fire memorial in Glenwood Springs where 14 firefighters died in 1994 and think of all the firefighters keeping us safe out here on the western slope. It’s unconscionable that they don’t have much higher funding and pay. They are heroes.
• UBC145: RIP to those firefighters
• Lonely_Noyaaa: I hope the two who were hospitalized pull through. Surviving an engine burnover is rare, and the physical and psychological recovery from something like that is going to be a long road.

• CuntForSpades: I was 5 years old, waiting by myself for the bus to school (my bus stop was right outside my daycare lady’s house). An elderly woman walked by, but stopped when she noticed me and insisted that I help her find her dog. She kept telling me it wouldn’t take that long and that I wouldn’t miss the bus. I’m so glad that I was shy and afraid of dogs back then. I refused to go with her and she hurried away when my bus pulled up.
• Secretlyagummybear: I loved seeing snakes on tv as a little girl, and my favorite character in Kung Fu Panda was Viper, so when I learned snakes like to sometimes nest or burrow in holes, I took a cookie sheet out into the backyard and put it next to a big hole. Sure enough, the pan heated under the sun and snakes came to rest on it, where i would then puck them up and play with them. My mother put a quick end to that.

They couldn’t calm her down so they asked if anyone on the plane could help. A man stood up and said he was a hypnotist so they sat him next to me and he tried to put her in a trance. I sat there for an hour next to a man continuously whispering into the ear of a sobbing woman. It was very odd!
• Round_Explanation_63: Whilst in India, I asked a local chemist if he could give me something that might make my 10 hour flight home more enjoyable, I said I’d like to be completely out of it for the duration. What I really meant is I’d like to be asleep however my choice of words were perhaps poor and badly translated. He gave me a small tablet to take one hour before the flight which I did. For the next 16 hours, I had the most intense hallucinogenic trip I have ever encountered in my entire life.
