People being lined up in front of a pit and shot.

• RudolftheDuck: Ripped a chunk of the employee’s hair out and then put it in her purse. She took it like it was a trophy. For 75 that’s not very mature.
• MagicTheBurrito: I feel bad for the young employees. Hopefully they don’t blame themselves. The entitlement by some of the older folks are ridiculous. Especially in “customer service” settings. Source: am a server in a retirement town in Florida.

• igetproteinfartsHELP: It was the AH-64 U.S. Army Apache attack helicopter
• IneptFortitude: This seems to be happening a little more regularly than usual

Multiple USS Abraham Lincoln sailors have tried to go overboard amid extended deployment, families say (r/news)

• traceyh415: My father was deployed for six months with no port of call during the Cuban missile crisis. It changed him as a person. He would NEVER wait in lines, did not like confined spaces, did not really like to be around people that much. My understanding is that it was like doing a jail sentence especially the way they were isolated from outside communication.
• AstralElement: As someone who was stationed on this very ship 23 years ago on a year long deployment, I really feel for these sailors. Deployment sucks, extended deployment really sucks. Your whole life is on pause. You can’t be with your family, you often have few friends, the food is often not great and really bad watch rotations if you’re early in your Naval career. The only saving grace for me with videogames and reading. People talk about how big they are, but it gets really small really fast. You don’t really have internet, maybe some email… that’s it.
• Whatdoesthibattahndo: We’ve never had a carrier from this era deployed for this long. Things are going to break in ways we didn’t even know they could break. Normal schedule is 6 months deployed, 6 months work-up, 6 months qualification and preparation for the next deployment. USS Lincoln is probably going to need longer and some maintenance might have to be pulled forward due to increased wear without proper work.

• HallucinogenicFish: [The manufacturer warns the device should not be used as punishment, against people merely exhibiting “verbal defiance or belligerence” or on high-risk populations such as children, pregnant women or elderly or disabled people.
