A Russian military helicopter made a brief incursion into NATO member Poland’s airspace, Polish army says (r/worldnews)

• Equivalent_Store_645: meanwhile europe continues to wipe spit off their faces and say “we must not escalate.”
• UnsignedRealityCheck: Yeah they’ve been doing it to us for decades (Finland). They turn off their transponders, cross the border and make ’neener neener fuck you’ U-turn when we go and check it. Excuses are always the same bullshit, gaslighting and accusing us something. Just another Tuesday.
• Dark-Cloud666: Yeh until Poland pokes back and Russia loses a aircraft over polish territory.

Congressman Cohen Introduces Comprehensive Articles of Impeachment Against President Donald Trump (r/law)

• Skritch_X: It is just boggling that, even though this is a list of 26 impeachable offenses, and despite the headline stating “Comprehensive”… there are so many other impeachable things he has done this term that could be added.
• kevendo: Great list. At the very least, someone needed to be keeping track of these in the Congressional record.
• Real-Contribution285: Reasons to vote against the worst major politician in recent US history (maybe ever)? Yes. Realistic articles of impeachment? He’ll no. It’s such a bad approach.

Which hobby has ended more relationships than people realize? (r/AskReddit)

• mikeyfireman: Anything that requires hooking up a trailer (rv camping, boating, horses) the fights I see at the boat ramp are amazing.
• tsh87: Apparently Crossfit has led to a lot of divorces. And affairs.
• Karisa_Marisame: Looking at the replies, I think there’s really only one thing that is harmful to relationship, and that is obsession. Obsession with anything really. Because if you’re spending too much time on that hobby, then you’re not spending enough time with your partner.

What chain restaurant will be gone by the end of the decade? (r/AskReddit)

• MountainDew-Can: I hope it’s Panera. I haven’t been in one in a while due to prices and declining food quality, but based on what I see on Reddit, it’s only gotten worse.
• Just_a_Rat: Hooters. Barely hanging on, and “breastaurants” in general on on a steep decline.
• JennJayBee: Crumbl. The novelty is gone at this point, and their prices are just too damn high.

Drilling begins at ‘real site’ of Noah’s Ark as activists warn ‘Darwinism will be dismantled’ (r/nottheonion)

• -SkeptiCat: Spoiler: it won’t dismantle the theory of evolution
• malepitt: Since they’re funded and run by True Believers, the explorers will most likely find “encouraging preliminary results” which will of course require further expensive exploration.
• Organic_Room_5556: I’ve been there. It’s a rock formation. The guy running the little museum who was convinced that he’s the guardian of a holy site was incredibly sweet though.

Far-left party wins Berlin election, pledging to nationalise housing (r/news)

• murdermostsnaky: Nationalize housing that is currently owned by private corporations (around 200k units) not all housing
• DayleD: “The rent is too damn high.” - - Jimmy McMillan
• kstargate-425: I wonder if this wasn’t a correction from the far-right AfD winning so much recently and people came out in numbers to push back to the left

Hunter charged with manslaughter in shooting of woman he mistook for a deer: Police (r/news)

• v_a_n_d_e_l_a_y: What an absolute piece of shit. Hope he spends the rest of his life in prison.
• VegHeaded: In front of her two children and husband. That’s heartbreaking.
• paintfactory5: But isn’t he one of the responsible gun owners I keep hearing about?

ICE Says It Can’t Find Its Own Records Of Teargassing And Arresting Broadview Protesters (r/news)

• New_Housing785: Does that mean they have to accept the protestors version of events in court since they can’t provide a competitive account?
• BrandenWi: Anyone who expects actual transparency from ICE has seriously not been paying attention
• Hydrant_Echo: Classic government version of “lost my homework.” Funny how the records always vanish for the bad stuff, never the payroll. This is exactly why independent oversight with subpoena power matters.

Pentagon invites Paul Brothers, YouTube influencers, to speak to troops (r/news)

• hefty_load_o_shite: Are they even pretending to want to be treated seriously anymore?
• loves_grapefruit: Glad I got out when I did. What a joke this administration has made of the US military.
• lafolieisgood: How do you think the majority of your fellow soldiers will take this? Will they be happy to meet celebrities or feel like the rest of us thinks it looks like?

Converse apologises and removes sneaker ad critics say includes racist imagery (r/news)

• epidemicsaints: Important info this article is missing: This was an ad for Converse Malaysia, so the lack of oversight is not as shocking.
• mightylordredbeard: Do people in Malaysia even know about the KKK’s history in America?
• tdasnowman: Malaysia is deeply familiar with their own racism, I would not expect them to be deeply familiar or triggered by American racism. I’m black and spent some time in that country nothing about this ad come off as racist or evokes the klan.

Family of Texas pregnant woman who died sues Texas AG Ken Paxton, alleges denied abortion led to death (r/news)

• Healthy-Caregiver997: Funny to watch Mike Johnson talking about how old men don’t understand enough about AI to be trying to regulate it but does not understand the same concept about women’s health!
• aquagardener: Forcing death on others with completely treatable conditions is not pro-life. Fuck Republicans with a hot flaming cactus
• CaliforniaNavyDude: The moment Row v Wade got overturned, we all knew this would happen and would keep happening. Ken Paxton and everyone like him deserves every lawsuit and criminal charge that can be thrown at them. They knew their actions would kill people and did it anyway.

Macklemore pledges his \$1m Ed Sheeran tour salary to Palestine (r/news)

• SillyGoatGruff: \$1m for two shows is a pretty sweet deal
• heephap: Calling out Kraft to match the donation is genius.
• iamacannibal: He is making the best of this situation. He has gained a ton of fans and is using this to help people. Seems like an overall good dude too.

People whose job is to read strangers for a living (poker dealers, bartenders, TSA agents, loss prevention): what’s the tell you clock in the first 10 seconds that people don’t realize they’re broadcasting? (r/AskReddit)

• SnooCats4137: Family law attorney here: when a potential client explains something with “and then for NO REASON” ..there’s always a reason, and it is usually because that person did something shitty.
• Sad_Improvement_443: Alcoholism. There’s many give aways. Random but interesting, the other day I had a guy come to my bar and ask for rum and cokes hold the rum and keep them coming. He said “gonna get wasted tonight in my imagination”. It made me really sad for him. But I was also proud that he was sticking to cokes. Still sad to see someone struggle.
• snowflake-57: Various private security roles: someone who is carrying a weapon, who isn’t proficient at carrying weapons, will be constantly fidgeting around wherever it’s concealed to reassure themselves that it’s still there. Caught more than a few knives from people nervously playing with their pockets.

What movie was completely misunderstood at release? (r/movies)

• bfloblizzard: Office Space. Poor marketing by the studio, bad release date. Most critics werent too harsh on it but didnt “get it” the same way average people do. It’s quotable, fun and relatable for anyone in a job they’re not wild about. Took time to find it’s audience on it’s own merits and not via marketing.
• trendykendy: Last Action Hero, a genuinely hilarious deconstruction of the action genre that bombed as people were expecting a regular Arnie movie
• Mst3Kgf: John Carpenter has had multiple examples of this. See also “Big Trouble in Little Chin”, which the studio had absolutely no idea what it was or how to market it.

TIL modern beekeeping rests on a single measurement discovered by a Philadelphia clergyman in 1851: leave bees a gap between about 6 and 9 mm and they will neither build comb in the space nor glue it shut — which is the only reason a beekeeper can lift frames out of a hive instead of destroying it. (r/todayilearned)

• dinosaruman: Ran across this when I got curious about honey production. Too little space and the bees cement it shut with propolis, but too much and they fill it with comb. Hit the window and the frames stay free forever. Rev. Lorenzo Lorraine Langstroth patented the movable-frame hive built on that principle — U.S. Patent 9,300, issued October 5, 1852 — and virtually every commercial hive in the world still uses it.
• Wizardmystical: The thought of destroying a whole hive just to harvest honey sounds like a nightmare, so this guy basically saved beekeeping
• Readonkulous: This for me is the perfect TIL

At least 16 killed in attack on mosque in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (r/worldnews)

• TheMarlinsOnlyFan: Would help a lot if the Pakistan government stopped funding and harboring terrorist groups
• alphajatin: I see a clear pattern where Pak-Afghan relations flare up as soon as Saudi is attack
• chintakoro: Is this a sectarian issue? If so, which sects? If not, why target a mosque? And which group is suspected? BBC article woefully short of any relevant details.

Trump claims we’ve taken permanent control over Greenland (r/justincaseyoumissedit)

• Miss_Maple_Dream: This has been in place since the US and Denmark agreed to it in 1951.
• dprestonwilliams1: Go read Greenland’s official statement on the “agreement”…nothing close to what he claims. Mostly what we already had in place for decades.
• dougl1000: We had a treaty with Denmark in 1951 to provide for Greenland security through NATO. So the US gets nothing except a bigger bill now that we do it alone.

What 9/11 fact should people be more aware of? (r/AskReddit)

• Correct_Pace8899: The absolute heroics of the flight 93 passengers. They knew they’d die, but by golly, they weren’t going to let more innocents go down with them.
• prophile: It has all the hallmarks of a conspiracy because it was one. By some jihadis, to fly a couple of planes into the twin towers. They then collapsed for very predictable structural reasons.
• prosa123: The evacuation of the World Trade Center was spectacularly, off-the-charts successful. Nearly everyone in both towers below the impact floors got out safely even though each tower had only three narrow stairways.

People who have gone deaf permanently, what was the last thing you heard? (r/AskReddit)

• Duffstro: This is what the subreddit is for. Great question.
• CanesMetsJets2: Not completely deaf but it was automatic rifle fire. The permanent ringing in my left ear sucks, still haven’t gotten used to it after 20 years.
• BothPanchoAndLefty: “Nahhh dude don’t be a pussy, it won’t be that loud”

What’s something your parents or grandparents did that you now realize was low-key genius parenting? (r/AskReddit)

• H0B0aladdin: My mom had me convinced as a kid that steamed broccoli with butter and lemon juice was an after dinner dessert
• Shyfiver: If two kids have to split something like a brownie one gets to cut it and the other gets first pick for which piece they get. The cutter will be oh so careful to make it as even as possible
• Sipyloidea: Mom caught me smoking. Told me I was old enough to make decisions like that (of course I wasn’t), just that she was kinda disappointed, because she had thought I was smarter than that. She left it with just that comment and I never touched another cigarette in my life.

• Numerous-Ordinary-19: He should have gotten a longer sentence!

Ireland’s national broadcaster will boycott 2027 Eurovision Song Contest over Israel’s participation (r/news)

• gotwaffles: Why is Israel even in “euro” vision? They’re not European lol
• ledow: The one good thing to come out of 2026 might well be a growing boycott of Israel now that we don’t give a damn about what the US thinks any more.
• sephjnr: Was it confirmed the Israel public vote this year was rigged/astroturfed?

Have you fallen in love with a person you found unattractive or unlikable at first? If so, what happened to change your opinion of them? (r/AskReddit)

• thandi81: Yes, i got to know them and in time love them, got married have children find him attractive every day
• GustavesGhost: Yeah. I didn’t find her attractive at first, but always liked her personality. It was just a lot of little things stacking up. Seeing her face in a certain light, hearing her laugh at something I said, watching her talk about something she was passionate about, finding yourself thinking about them when you aren’t together. Eventually you have enough of these little moments of attraction, that you realize you want them. It’s rarely if ever just one moment that completely changes your mind about a person.
• perrytheply: Chick at the school I went to, everyone kind of had this public image of her so it like mentally put an “ugly” or “unattractive” spot in my mind. Someone came up to me randomly and told me that she liked me and I looked up for a second and actually saw her and it completely changed my perspective to the hottest chick in the world lol

People who sit in someone else’s assigned seat in a plane and wait for them to show up, why do you do it? (r/AskReddit)

• Captain_Comic: If I’m in your seat, it 100% because I misread the row and I will move immediately

• AggroJordan: Well makes sense, whoever got there first got the highest prices, I would think.
• Cliffinati: The cannon ball run of the era

Women sue Epstein’s estate, saying their photos were found in his vast child porn collection (r/news)

• supervillaindsgnr: The fact that Epstein still has an estate should have a literal mob hunting down every last ill-gotten dollar of his an returning it to the victims of his traficking ring.
• ChopperChange: Who are the people managing Epstein’s estate?
• SteveJobsBlakSweater: Jesus, that’s so fucked up. The only thing worse than a child porn collection is finding out that you’re in it.

Robert Kraft says Ed Sheeran asked him to donate \$2m to aid “in the region” after Macklemore backlash (r/news)

• Otarmichael: Where in the region, Ed? Where in the region??

Family of Texas pregnant woman who died sues Texas AG Ken Paxton, alleges denied abortion led to death (r/news)

• tooshpright: I wish them all the luck in the world.

• waaaayupyourbutthole: We all know absolutely nothing will come of it.

• Grey-Squirrel-World: That is why they passed the Clean Water Act in 1972.
• moogoo2: Wonder what they think “promote the general welfare” means?
• wallyrules75: Because when the laws were written no one thought we would be sooo stupid to ruin our water sources. So this judge sides with stupidity that benefits the few over the welfare of the masses.

U.S. strikes 3 Iranian oil tankers after Iran targets Navy warships, military says (r/news)

• Stereo_Jungle_Child: What size potatoes are these?

• Gonna_Die_Alone: Link surfing on LiveLeak back in the day got you watching some…dark stuff…
• MysteriousSeat5245: SmartSchoolboy9

You’re handed 2 pounds of ground beef and told you can’t make spaghetti, tacos, or burgers. What’s your panic‑mode meal? (r/AskReddit)

• Hidingjimmy: Knitting. It’s like scratching an itch I didn’t know I had.
• Thunder3264: Going for a 20-minute walk every evening with absolutely no phone or headphones. Just observing neighborhood dogs, the sky, and existing without constant stimulation. It completely reset my brain.
• tnbciceskater: Figure skating at age 50. Now 76 and still skating after hip replacement and breast cancer. It keeps you joyful.

Mitch McConnell returns to Senate after three-month health absence (r/news)

• ericvillanuevaleiva: Man we need term limits.
• grog23: It’s insane how all these fuckers just cling to power to their dying breath. Their selfishness truly knows no limit
• jazzmaster4000: Nice to have paid leave and healthcare that didn’t get cancelled for missing work for an extended period of time. Would be cool if they made that possible for all Americans

Supreme Court rejects Trump’s mail ballot restrictions for now ahead of midterms (r/news)

• xdr01: 97th attempt is a charm, just 1 day before mid terms
• Sislar: Next up, the postal service does it anyway and it takes years for the courts to even try to stop it.
• ThisIsDadLife: And remember this: the Imperial need for control is so desperate because it is so unnatural. Tyranny requires constant effort. It breaks, it leaks. Authority is brittle. Oppression is the mask of fear.

What hobby has become too expensive for the average person? (r/AskReddit)

• Bingus-Chillingus: Computers in general. Whether for gaming, home labs, servers, websites, data hoarding, emulation, etc. Its all just gotten way too expensive over a very short span
• ignescentOne: Sewing. Fabric is more expensive than premade clothes these days, to a terrifying degree. And then you have to add in shipping and sometimes tarrifs because there are no local fabric shops anymore.
• DrGoblinator: Concerts. I still have all my concert stubs from the 80s and it is crazy to see artists like Elton John or Tom Petty or Metallica for 18 bucks- kids these days can’t afford to go to concerts and that makes me so sad.

Veterinarians of reddit or people working with animals, what’s a silent telltale that someone’s a good or bad pet owner? (r/AskReddit)

• Hermoine_Rager: If their pet comes to them for comfort, it shows they have built safety in their relationship.
• Pretend-Young1102: I had my new kittens (twin void sisters) for about a year and was taking them to the vet for a booster shot. The nurse came in and I really had to pee, so she said it’s OK if I stepped out briefly and she’d be fine with them as she was just taking vitals then. When I got back, she had the stethoscope on my more skittish girl, and she looked at me and said “this is the cutest thing, as soon as she saw you through the door her heart rate went down” every now and then I think of that story and get a little emo :,)
• HazyInfidel: I asked a vet this once and he told me the bad owners don’t take their pets to the vet

TIL that a man suffered stress induced amnesia for 6 years and 10 months, which went away naturally after he started a new job. (r/todayilearned)

• shpoopie2020: Sometimes work is killing us.
• Elipticon: There was a guy on Youtube who was documenting his struggles with early-onset Alzheimers, and then he suddenly posted that it was a misdiagnosis, and it was actually just stress-induced memory loss, first by his job and then by the panic of (not actually) having Alzheimers.
• caffeinefree: No amnesia for me, but I had stress related migraines (almost daily), an ulcer, and poor sleep. All went away or became manageable after changing jobs. I can see how if I had stayed in that job, my health would have continued to deteriorate.

San Jose officer fired for misusing Flock camera database in domestic abuse case | US news (r/news)

• B-Z_B-S: “But although the cliche says that power always corrupts, what is seldom said, is that power always reveals. When a man is climbing, trying to persuade others to give him power, concealment is necessary. But as a man obtains more power, camouflage becomes less necessary.” — Robert A. Caro, The Passage of Power.
• 008Zulu: Oh hey another flocking abuse of power.
• noisemerchant: will probably just be hired in a different county in a few months

Alaska drops voter misconduct cases against American Samoans who checked ‘US citizen’ box (r/news)

• PhilosopherFLX: Long story short, Samoa doesn’t want Americans buying property in Samoa. So they stay a protectorate. And thus we reach today.
• rhubes: That’s how I became an American citizen, by joining the military. Even after all of that, it was a struggle.
• BookkeeperSelect2091: You can die for someone’s country, but still won’t be recognized as one of their own is a wild concept.

What’s something civilians completely misunderstand about daily life in the military? (r/AskReddit)

• _CozyMacaron: How much of it is just standing around waiting for hours only to be told to wait somewhere else
• Signal-View4754: Sometimes (most the times) it’s like a regular job.
• IndependentBorder670: That the typical day isn’t much different than as a civilian.

What’s a hobby that looks incredibly peaceful from the outside, but is actually pure stress once you get into it? (r/AskReddit)

• MisGeri: Gardening. It looks peaceful until you spend three months nurturing plants only for an underground war with pests, root rot, and unpredictable weather to test your entire sanity.
• thalassicus: Not pure stress, but because of the scarcity of waves per capita, surfing is often more aggressive/angry than it should be. Lots of people in a gorgeous environment doing a fun thing and yelling at each other.
• Gwarnage: Most hobbies once you hit a certain pay-in level. But, damn, flying expensive RC planes looks stressful

What product do you think has been perfected? (r/AskReddit)

• pika1229: My own vote is the pencil. So simple and cheap to make that you can buy packs from the dollar store. So reliable that you can use it to write, sketch, shade, everything. And there is never any idea for an upgrade because what would be the point in one? Its perfect as is.
• TheDevler: Love this question. I often think about something like the guitar. One of those things where you get to a certain price and then nothing really gets improved. Just more exotic woods used or customs designs etc.
• mcqtimes411: The stapler. Swingline for 1982 still going strong at work. Perfect every time no issues. When I think about it a lot of things have been perfected but it’s tough to find the perfect version because everything has to be shitty so you’ll replace it and keep the fat cats happy.

Search underway for Indonesian passenger ship carrying at least 240 people after it loses contact (r/news)

• lucifer893: Local news says the ship capsized. 115 rescued so far with one dead.
• 00notmyrealname00: It’s incredible to me in this day and age with GPS, DSC, VMS, EPIRB, SATCOM, Starlink and even regular old radio communication equipment that we can lose a passenger ship and the 241 people onboard. Fucking tragic.
• chucchinchilla: Virgo Transport 8 is the name of the ship for anyone who wants to look it up.

Former US detention officer charged with 20 alleged forged Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainment documents (r/news)

• EldritchSlut: abducting people from the street illegally and we are all just sitting here, myself included.
• Ryan_e3p: Folks, bear in mind, that is what he was charged with. There are likely dozens, if not hundred more forged documents that have some evidence, but not enough that the government can know is a sure thing when it comes to trial.
• microthrower: Interesting detail in the article about how this guy could get out on a bond. He was specifically forging documents allowing for longer detainment, but of course he can get out of detainment with a few thousand dollars.

What is the ultimate example of ‘high risk, incredibly low reward’ behavior that you see people do every single day? (r/AskReddit)

• Candid-Sky-3258: Riding motorcycles without a helmet. Sorry bro, that backwards hat won’t prevent head trauma.
• LizardPossum: Not wearing a seatbelt. I’m a journalist. I responded to a car crash a couple of years ago where everyone but one person was wearing their seatbelts. The woman who didn’t wear hers was half ejected, hanging out of the window with the car on its side. Her face was quite literally gone. She was dead. Everyone else was fine. It was literally the difference between walking away and a closed casket funeral, and for what?
• Captain_Swing: Petty theft. The number of people I’ve seen lose decent jobs and get a criminal record because they wanted free stuff is ridiculous.

What are the unsexy, raw realities of a long-term relationship or marriage that no one warns you about? (r/AskReddit)

• jtbxiv: At some point you’re both going to be going through seriously difficult shit at the same time and it’s gonna be nose to the grind stone for both of you without the kind of support you’d like to get from each other. It’s a very complex array of feelings from sympathy for the other, feeling unable to do more, and also feeling left behind and sorry for yourself. This time requires so much patience and forgiveness for yourself and your partner. But sometimes you’ll be surprised in how you two can show up for each other despite it all.
• iwantamalt: There’s a point in the relationship where the dynamic shifts from intense desire to comfortable and routine. This isn’t a bad thing but a lot of people treat it as if it is because our society glamorizes romance and desire. You can absolutely still create romance in a long term relationship, but it feels different from that new relationship energy that everyone longs for. The grass is usually not greener and having the safety and security of a long term partner’s love and emotional support is worth way more than whatever short term intense desire you’re seeking.
• MbMinx: Always buy a house with at least two toilets. My BF and I both got food poisoning one weekend. Both people, both ends, one bathroom. I will never have a one-seater house again.

What’s something you’re grieving that isn’t a death? (r/AskReddit)

• Some-Possibility1738: The happy version of me.
• latesleeperfoodeater: Life before my chronic illness diagnosis. I’m so thankful to have treatment and support, but my life has changed so much. Hospital stays, medical trauma and pain have forever changed me
• MrsRobertshaw: The cost of living. We did everything correctly. Live modestly. Still feel crushed under the weight of simple groceries and petrol.
